After checking out World Wildlife Fund’s Facebook page and website, we came across this adorable video. Mrs. Obach and I decided that it would be the perfect video to review some of the important components of “Little Hands, Big World” from the 2011-12 school year. The students loved the video, and my kindergarten class watched it several times and paused at strategic parts to discuss just what Norman was doing.
Next, we called our friends at Hamiota Elementary to share the video with them via skype. It was an interesting call–my senior kindergarten students were very familiar with the project as they participated in it in their junior kindergarten year, but Mrs. Obach’s Grade 1 students were newbies!
Following the video, we discussed all the ways that Norman was an eco-warrior. The students were excited to realize that they could be eco-warriors too!
