We made a video about helping animals after Alyssa from Alyssa’s Ark Small Animal Rescue came to see us. The students were so excited to select the photos, music and text that would best convey our message. They felt that sad music was best because it is so hearing about the homeless and unwanted animals made them really sad. The video explains some things that people can do to help animals; each student gave a suggestion to include with the photo of them meeting Wiggles, a rescued bunny.
During Alyssa’s visit, we learned that the rescue really needs old blankets, towels and old clothes for animal bedding. Students from HES and OLCS decided that they could collect these items to donate to Alyssa’s Ark. We are now encouraging people to drop old clothing, towels and blankets off at our school to be reused as animal bedding at Alyssa’s Ark.
