Ways to Work with Your Librarian

James shared that he worked in a school where each learner created a “Portrait of a Graduate” that included 8 areas linked to important skills such as digital citizenship. Teachers and librarians worked together to support students in meeting the requirements for their projects.

Ask your librarian to support you and your students with research. They are experts in curating resources, whether it’s print material or digital material.

Go to your librarian with questions and allow them to connect you with other staff and students. They often work with everyone in the building and can help build connections!

Tackle maker activities together. If your library has a makerspace or supplies for maker activities, there is an opportunity for your learners to create projects. Students might create something related to your subject areas or focus on design skills, collaboration and creativity while pursuing a project of their choice.
