We had the privilege of hosting an exciting guest today.  One of the local organizations our class would like to work with this year to help animals is Alyssa’s Ark Small Animal Rescue.  Today, Alyssa visited our classroom and even brought two rescue animals with her! My grade 1 students wrote this for our school newsletter.   We want to help animals this year and this is one project we are doing to help a local rescue called Alyssa’s Ark Small Animal Rescue.  Donations of blankets and towels can be dropped off at our school! Our Grade 1 classroom is back into the swing of things!  Our 2012-2013 students had their first Skype interaction when Mrs. Caldwell and her Junior and Senior Kindergartens Skyped our class.   Since her Senior Kindergartens were project leaders last year, they explained the great work they’d done last school year to help the environment.

This morning we started designing our reminder stickers to help people remember their reusable bags.  The stickers were one of the solutions the Grade 1s came up with when we found out from the RCMP officer that hanging things from our rearview mirror was not legal or safe.  We used the Avery website to design
