Tech Tidbit: Break Your Email-Checking Habit

Tech Tidbit: Turn off your email notifications on your phone to reduce distractions and break your email-checking habit. ✉

We’ve been sharing about habits lately as we prepare to read Atomic Habits for our next book club. I was guilty of mindlessly checking my email on my phone WAY TOO MUCH. I was reading Marie Forleo’s book Everything is Figureoutable last summer when I decided to make a change. I did her time auditing activity and tracked my time (including screen time on my phone). I’d heard from several sources how distracting our phones are and how they negatively impact our productivity, but I was still checking that inbox wayyyyyyy too much.

Breaking my email checking habit has been a challenge, but something that’s helped a lot is turning off the email notifications on my phone. 🚫🚫 My email notifications have been off for about 8 months and I don’t miss them at all!

I 💥dare💥 you to try it for a week! Just turn those email notifications off and see how it feels. Send us an email, comment here or DM us on social to let us know how it goes. (Message us before April 30, 2021 and we’ll even enter you for our April Book Giveaway!)
